Apologies for the audio artifacts this time around. I forgot to unplug my laptop before recording and had to remove the 60-cycle hum (and harmonics) using a software notch filter. Which is ironic, because I warned about this very problem on the Wired How-To Wiki.

I'm offended that everyone has forgotten "Espionage" on the coherent story vote!
ReplyDeleteHi, Blake--
ReplyDeleteIt's not so much that we forgot about it, but that CKL didn't call it out in the contents. We did discuss the Game, but we're not qualified to make a story judgment. Neither of us played in "Espionage."

I'm offended that you didn't listen to the whole podcast before commenting on it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for fielding my question :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds challenging to GC an coherent original story that teams would actually care about enough to pay attention to. Especially considering slower teams get skipped over clues and there's a constant meta-gaming thought process going on. Most people I talked to say you did a great job with Hogwarts story-wise. Sorry I missed it!
I believe The Brain's "YES!" is an exaggeration of Orson Welles, which does predate Ed McMahon.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff, Curtis and DeeAnn! Your SnoutCasts have made my last couple holiday flights go a little faster. :)
ReplyDeleteDiscussion suggestion a future SnoutCast: What is your all time most memorable moment in a Game? Most memorable moment in each Game you played in or ran might also be fun.
And a possibly stupid question: Is there a way to subscribe to your audio podcast that I'm missing? So far I've just had to download each one independently.
@ubragg: Glad you're enjoying the podcast! Thanks for the topic suggestion. We'll put it on our list.
ReplyDeleteYou can now subscribe to the SnoutCast with this URL:
http://feeds.feedburner.com/snoutcast
That should work in iTunes and most other podcast feed readers. Let me know if you have any problems.
You guys are up to #12 now, but I've been downloading Snoutcast via iTunes ever since it was possible (which I guess is this episode). I'm listening furiously, and hope to meet you soon in the present. I LOVED heading Sean's Old Person clue (beta and the real one with Coed). I played some fro Crissy last night and she plotzed!
ReplyDeleteActually, we've been on iTunes for a while, but I may have broken the feed temporarily due to the Blogger migration earlier this month. Sorry about that. Glad to hear you're enjoying the show!
